Maddie Bosch was kidnapped to end season one of Bosch Legacy and her father saves her life in the second episode of season two. For those folks on Redditt who claim Madison Lintz can’t act she did a damn fine job of acting in the second season of Bosch Legacy and has done a very good job of acting since the series started. To those crazed folks out there Madison Lintz is an actress. She’s portraying a character whose father is a cold SOB at times and her mother was no emotional life-saving mom either.
When you see her trapped in the box in the desert and her life is fading fast you see her determination to keep fighting to live. While her victim impact statement against Kurt Dockweiler might seem cold to some you feel her father’s determined mindset come out fully just as her dad was known to do.
Season two of Bosch Legacy for me comes down to the two women in Harry Bosch’s life his daughter Maddie and Honey Chandler. This season dealt with their characters far more than season one did when Harry Bosch had left the LAPD and was searching for his new role in life. This season of Bosch Legacy on Amazon Prime was full of intrigue and yes Harry Bosch is involved but the ladies saved this season for me.
Oh look she smiles and yes she cries just like any other human being. It might not be when you like it but for my money, the young lady is doing a great job of acting and she’s not doing a lousy job at all. Her character is asked to be as cold and seemingly uncaring as her father and that’s no easy task. When she deals with her partner (Officer Vasquez) or her lover she’s simply acting again. So stop attacking Madison Lintz she’s portraying a character and it’s that simple.
When she saves her father’s life in episode nine and reveals to her father afterward how she fears for his life daily and how that affects her you see real emotions coming out from Maddie Bosch. If Maddie Bosch seems like a cold fish to those fans y’all have no idea what her life was like and need to watch Bosch for all seven seasons before attacking Madison Lintz the actress.
When Maddie Bosch saves her father’s life and she then goes to see her mother’s memorial at the FBI you see her acting like a hurt and angry daughter just like any daughter would be. Then you see her softer side when she goes to visit Honey Chandler and tells her of the way her parents met and fell in love with each other.
At the end of the season, Maddie Bosch finds out about Peter Benson another of her father’s earlier convicts who calls her and tells her that her dad has nothing to worry about when Kurt Dockweiler after he gave him a drug overdose. This leads into season three of Bosch Legacy and we should see much more of Harry Bosch and his character than we did in season two.
Bosch Legacy – Honey Chandler
As I said in my earlier article about BOSCH I wrote how impressed I was with Mimi Rogers and her portrayal of Honey “Money” Chandler.
Season two of Bosch Legacy sees Honey Chandler in a whole new light. First of all, she’s still dealing emotionally with the results of the end of season one where the man who tried to have her killed was himself killed thanks in large part to her actions.
Then she deals with an FBI investigation into her role in the whole mess. This is where Honey Chandler shines and steals the season for me. How she completely fools the FBI is simply amazing to watch. All this time she’s also getting an innocent man in jail for murder off the hook. This is where her chemistry with Harry Bosch also shines through the entire season. To see the two of them working together is magical on the screen.
Bosch Legacy season two is a great way to see how Honey Chandler uses the law and then makes everyone pay attention to her cause which remains the same as it was on BOSCH and when she proves her client is innocent thanks to the two cops who murdered an L.A. sheriff’s wife and tried to blame her client all the way to the end of the season when after dealing with the FBI she declares her intention to become the next District Attorney of Los Angeles.
The moment you see her with former Chief Of Police Irvin Irving and she states she wants his support when she declares her candidacy is an incredible moment. Seeing Lance Reddick in his last acting role was emotionally hard for me as well.
Honey Chandler is a great character and I truly enjoy watching her and look forward to seeing where her character goes and how Harry Bosch will still be involved in her life.
Harry Bosch and his daughter discuss the fact that he won’t likely be involved as the District Attorney investigators routinely serve subpoenas, I think he is likely to be quite involved with D.A. Honey Chandler and will be a prime focus for season three of Bosch Legacy.
Bosch Legacy Season Three
Season three can finally be shot now that the writer’s strike and the actors’ strike have both ended. I know I will be tuning in as soon as I hear the announced date my TV will be tuned in to see Harry Bosch Maddie Bosch and Honey Chandler.
How does Maddie Bosch react to her father’s relationship with Peter Benson and the results of Kurt Dockweiler’s death will be interesting to watch.
