Blue Bloods has been a television viewing staple for me for 14 seasons. Why? This is a question I have asked myself often. I’m not a fan of Donnie Wahlberg nor any of the Chief of Police Frank Reagan for the NYPD’s other children. I do not like his “team” that assists him at the office either. Why then would I tune into almost every episode for 14 seasons? That answer is simple, Tom Selleck.
Now don’t get me wrong I don’t agree with Tom Selleck politically in any way shape or form. I’m certainly not interested in a reverse mortgage either. However, his portrayal of being the New York City Chief of Police has always drawn my interest. Right from the first episode I ever watched Blue Bloods has always been such a well-written program.
Blue Bloods Cast
As I mentioned earlier the cast of this show annoys me to no end. Despite that fact, Donnie Wahlberg portrays a volatile son and I’m sorry but he’s also been using his gun way more than any other detective I’ve ever met. But where I do identify with both him and his father in the way they treat the loss of their wives. Something I am all too familiar with. I feel their pain and maybe that’s what has drawn me to watch Blue Bloods.
While I enjoy his work with his current partner, I really would like to see him finish the series with him back together with Jennifer Esposito. Watch episode two of the final season of Blue Bloods to see why. They have magic together onscreen.
His oldest child after the loss of his one son is his daughter portrayed by Bridget Moynahan. I’m sorry but the lady has been divorced for ages and she needs to go out and find herself a new man. Your ex-husband is someone you don’t trust yet every season we see her and Jack back together. That’s been the lamest aspect of the entire program. Will she find a new man in the last season of Blue Bloods?
She is a beautiful lady and yes she’s also the mother of Tom Brady’s first child in real life, but the Assistant District Attorney for New York City needs to find real happiness with someone. Please don’t let it be with her ex-husband I beg the writers of Blue Bloods.
Will Estes plays Frank Reagan’s youngest son and even his marriage to a fellow police officer played by Vanessa Ray has a nice sweet touch to it but he’s always been such a boy scout and his tough guy act always pales in comparison to his older brother.
While the plotlines are often laden with nepotism I don’t mind seeing Tom Selleck in command of the New York City Police Department. When Tom Selleck acts as the Chief of Police it’s always to the benefit of those men and women whom he cares the most about, the men and women who serve beneath him. There’s just something soothing about seeing a much older Magnum P.I. who still rocks a mustache. Even though the clothes aren’t as cool in Blue Bloods as when he portrayed Magnum his acting skills have improved greatly in my opinion.
I look forward to seeing this show end. However, we will all need to wait until the fall of this season to see what happens to the Reagan clan. CBS announced that the final eight episodes will air this fall. So thanks to the two strikes this final season will only have 18 episodes. Blue Bloods has been a long-running series and I’m certain fans of Blue Bloods will have a tear or two in their eyes when this show does come to an end.
Latest episode:
• Frank meets son of man killed his son
• Joe Hill meets him also & he’s Policeman!
Wow… 😲 Close Enough? 🫤
