Prince Rogers Nelson had been on record saying that he didn’t celebrate his birthday. The artist, born on June 7, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, would have turned 59 years old today. Prince probably would not have celebrated if he was alive, but today is a day that his fans can appreciate what he contributed to the world of music. While Prince was a very private person and went about his business in a different way than most, you couldn’t deny his talent. Hit after hit was delivered from the singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer.
In honor of his birthday, I put together a list of my top five Prince songs. My list wasn’t based on charts, just simply what I have in my personal music rotation.
