Call me wrong all you want when it comes to Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson. I was DEAD WRONG in my draft analysis. I didn’t like the fact Richardson had only played 13 games at quarterback and certainly didn’t see him as a day-one starter for any NFL team. I am joined by many draft analysts out there in the land of those of us who partake in draft day musings.
Unlike most folks out there doing draft analysis when I get something wrong I admit it clearly and am doing so here.
Anthony Richardson in his NFL debut:
— 223 PASS YDS
— 1 PASS TD
— 40 RUSH YDS (led team)
— 1 RUSH TD1st rookie in NFL history with 200+ PASS YDS, 40+ RUSH YDS, 1 PASS TD and 1 RUSH TD in their debut. pic.twitter.com/tWI4MohGvt

Anthony Richardson you proved me and plenty of draft analysts wrong with your performance even with your amazing stats from the draft combine.
Certainly, your size speed and strength numbers had my like most draft analyst’s attention. However, I felt like so many others that you needed time to be coached up at the NFL level. That’s where I screwed this one up and quite royally at that. Your week one game was magnificent and deserves plenty of attention.
Not only did you do something no other rookie quarterback has ever done in his debut game, but you convinced me you need to be on the field as much as possible. Anthony Richardson absolutely blew me away with how well he played against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
So here’s my quick apology to Anthony Richardson. May you play as well all season long for the Indianapolis Colts those fans deserve a quarterback who can play there for years and you are that guy. May you stay healthy and contribute to many great games as you showed us in week one.
See folks this is what you do when you mess something up. You step forward and admit your error.
