The (13-3) Buffalo Bills will travel to Kansas City to take on the (14-2) Chiefs.
When: Sunday, January 24th
Time: 6:40 PM
Where: CBS TV
The Bills dominated the Baltimore Ravens, 17-3 and the Chiefs had to “hang on” to beat the Cleveland Browns, 22-17. Patrick Mahomes left the AFC Divisional round playoffs because of the NFL’s concussion protocol rule. He should be ready to play on Sunday.
The Bills struggled to score points against the Ravens defense but Stefon Diggs had another great game. Diggs had 8 catches for 106 yards and 1 touchdown. John Brown also caught 8 passes for 62 yards. Buffalo only had 32 rushing yards against a good Baltimore defense. The Bills defense has gotten better each week. Taron Johnson had a 101-yard interception return for a touchdown. This defense continues to lead the NFL in turnovers caused in the 4th quarter.
The Chiefs are led by Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. The two combined for 16 catches, 229 yards and 1 touchdown in their win over the Browns. Darrel Williams rushed for 78 yards on 13 carries.
Kansas City’s defense is not an elite unit, but they come up with timely sacks and interceptions. The “Honey Badger,” Tyrann Mathieu, had a huge interception against Baker Mayfield.
Prediction:
The Bills should be able to put up points against the Chiefs. Will Patrick Mahomes be 100% healthy and ready to play? If he passes concussion protocol and he is healthy, the Chiefs should win. Kansas City has played in 60 straight games where they held the lead at one point. That is the second longest streak in the history of the NFL. The Seattle Seahawks had the lead for 70 straight games from 2012-2015.
