Baltimore Ravens 2026 Week 1 Recap: vs. Indianapolis Colts
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

For the first time since December 30, 2007, the Baltimore Ravens will not have John Harbaugh as their head coach. A new era begins for the Baltimore Ravens with new Head Coach Jesse Minter against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1. The game began with well-played football on both sides of the ball, and the Ravens put up a bunch of points. Several players on both sides of the ball stepped up and made big plays that put points on the scoreboard. And, in the end, the Baltimore Ravens ended up on the right side of an impressive 41-23 win over the Colts.

The offense put up monster stats against the Indianapolis Colts defense in their blowout victory in Week 1.

Their 3-headed monster of QB Lamar Jackson, RB Derrick Henry, and WR Zay Flowers each had big-time statistics.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson had a pretty solid day on the field in both throwing and running the football. He threw for 324 yards on 17 completions in 25 attempts with 1 touchdown pass and a QBR of 124.2. Follow that up with 40 rushing yards on 7 carries with 1 rushing touchdown in a Ravens win.

Also, on the day, Running Back Derrick Henry put his work in on the ground in the Ravens’ Week 1 victory. Derrick Henry had a day of 24 carries for 144 rushing yards with 3 rushing touchdowns, including a 32-yard touchdown. As the running game ran, the day was completed with 202 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns, with 3 from Derrick Henry.

And wide receiver Zay Flowers, who signed a 4-year contract extension worth 140 million dollars, played like a #1 WR. On the day, Flowers caught 5 passes for 150 yards on 6 targets, including a 54-yard touchdown catch in the 1st half. But Zay Flowers missed all of the 2nd half due to a Hamstring injury and finished with what he had.

Also, Rookie WR Ja’Kobi Lane left the game as well with a wrist injury in the 1st half and didn’t return.

With both Zay Flowers and Ja’Kobi Lane leaving the game early because of injuries, the WR position is thin. This Week, the Ravens will keep an eye on both Flowers’ and Lane’s status for next Sunday against the Saints.

The new-look offense had a phenomenal debut under new OC Declan Doyle, as they got 506 yards on offense. And if the offensive line can find its footing moving forward, the sky’s the limit for the Ravens’ offense.

On the other side of the ball, the defense had a great 1st game under new head coach Jesse Minter.

Today’s defense showed what the Ravens’ history is all about: playing physical defense and forcing turnovers. The defense held the Indianapolis Colts offense to just 251 total yards all game.

In 2025, the Baltimore Ravens defense had only 11 total turnovers all season. In Week 1, they forced 2 turnovers that turned into 14 points for the Ravens. Roquan Smith came up with the 1st turnover of the game, which turned into 7 points for Baltimore. Then in the 2nd quarter, Marlon Humphrey stripped Johnathan Taylor and turned it into another 7 points for the Ravens.

The pass rush was on point today, as the defense pressured Daniel Jones a lot. The pass rush hit Daniel Jones 9 times and got 2 sacks on the day.

The Ravens’ road to LA began nicely with a dominating win over Indy, and Jesse Minter gets his 1st win. It’s only Week 1, but this team looks like a team; if they find their rhythm, the AFC should take notice.

Now it’s on to Week 2 for their home opener against the New Orleans Saints, looking to move to 2-0.
