Anytime a Patriot League member has a shot at a Power conference, it’s an opportunity to help the entire conference and Bucknell (3-2) did that with their close victory at Vanderbilt. The Bison had shots at two other Power conference opponents (Wake Forest and Butler) and lost both by at least 20 points. In the 75-72 victory, Nick Foulland had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Kimbal MacKenzie hit big free throws to stave off the Commodores.

Lehigh (1-2) got their first win of the year with a victory over Princeton. The Mountain Hawks’, Tim Kempton, leads the conference in scoring at 26.3 points a game. Colgate (1-2) also got their first win in a 67-63 victory over Cornell.

Boston U. (3-1) had a solid week with two wins. The Terriers defeated Maine 102-78 and LIU Brooklyn 86-69. Cedric Hankerson knocked down five 3-pointers in the victory over LIU Brooklyn.

Army (1-3) and Navy (1-4) suffered losses this week. Army had a hard fought loss to Central Arkansas, 81-76 while Navy dropped games to North Dakota State and UNC-Greensboro.

Lafayette (2-2) scored an 84-83 overtime victory over NJIT. Nick Linder hit big free throws while Matt Klinewski his first double-double of the season. Loyola (MD) (1-3) failed to have anyone score in double figures in an 83-48 loss to Notre Dame. Earlier in the week, the Greyhounds fell to LIU-Brooklyn.

Holy Cross (0-3) and American (0-3) remain winless.

Patriot League Weekly Awards:

Player of the Week: Tim Kempton (Lehigh)

Rookie of the Week: Tyler Scanlon (Boston U)

Honorable Mention: Matt Klinewski (Lafayette), Eric Fanning (Boston U), Nana Foulland (Bucknell), Jordan Cohen (Lehigh)
