Interview with 4 Star Offensive Tackle Adam Guthrie Committed to Clemson

Tale of the Tape:

Adam Guthrie is currently going into his senior year at Miami Trace High School in Washington Courthouse, Ohio. Currently coming at 6’6 300Ibs Adam is already built with the size the NFL looks for. He is committed to the right school as well which knows how to pump out premium NFL talent in Clemson University. Adam also had 43 D-1 offers going into his selection process, which isn’t surprising. When you turn the tape on, you see right away Adam, has the talent to dominate at the college level and perhaps the NFL level as well. Let’s get to the interview, though!

Faith-Based Questions:

1. Explain your love for Jesus and 1 thing he has blessed you with?                                                          Jesus has been there every step of the way, and he has blessed me to be in the position I am today and to have an amazing, supportive cast around me
2. Is there a specific prayer you would like to see Jesus answer? Explain it and why?                                  My prayer is for God to keep us healthy and that we continue to grow together

Personal Questions 

1. Who was your football idol growing up?                                                                                                           My football idol growing up was my brother, he inspired me to be where I’m at today.
2. Who do you like to model your game after?                                                                                                         I love to model my game after Detriot Lions Offensive Tackle Penei Sewell 
3. If you could play any other position, what would that be?                                                                                      If I could play another position, it would be wide receiver.  

High School Questions: 

1. Is there a coach or Teacher who has motivated you to achieve more in not just football but in life?     Every teacher or coach that I have had has impacted my life in more ways than one
2. When you look back at you high school experience in 10 years what will you say was your best memory?                                                                                                                                                             Just being able to share all of these memories with family and friends
3. Academically, what has been your favorite subject or elective in High School?                                                If I could pick one subject that I love, it would have to be math, it’s my favorite for sure!    

College Questions:

1. What are you looking forward to the most in college?                                                                             Becoming better not only as a football player but as a man as well.
2. What do you plan on studying in college?                                                                                                            In college I’m currently planning on majoring in sports management.
3. If you could have any 1 NIL deal what would it be?                                                                                            If I could have any NIL deal, it would have to be with a private jet company 
4. Do you have any crazy recruiting stories?                                                                                                            I don’t really have anything to crazy I would just say there was one week of school when I only went to one class because I would get pulled out of so many classes to go to talk to coaches 

DJRS Questions: 

1. What has been the most beneficial part about having DJRS at your side during not only the recruiting process but just throughout your high school career?                                                                                  I’ve known Darren since I was in 7th grade, it has become more than just recruiting. He has helped me and my family to guide us in the right direction for the past 5 years now.
2. What would be the #1 reason you would recommend DJRS to an up-and-coming football player?            If you’re serious about getting to the next level and playing football, there’s no reason I would not want to be about of DJRS

Closing Thoughts:

Such insightful answers to my questions, one that really stuck out to me was Adams’ answer to the NIL deal question. I know these young adults are starting to receive money now and that’s fantastic. I fully support getting your due. However, having your own jet that can fly you home real quickly to see your family or your girlfriend. That’s a NIL deal better than money in my opinion. Plane flights are not cheap, people! I just would like to thank Adam Guthrie for taking the time to answer these questions.
