Before I get into today’s hearing, I want to address some comments I made comparing two independent journalists. John DePetro highlighted a missing person case in Warwick, Rhode Island, by reporting outside the driveway of a person of interest. Aidan Kearny did something similar in Canton, and DePetro seems to have an issue with that. My intention wasn’t to undermine DePetro’s credibility; I was simply pointing out what I saw as a double standard.
Robert Alessi Was Great Today At the Karen Read Hearing
Today, Karen Read had her hearing after Judge Beverly Cannone paused proceedings last week. The Commonwealth had claimed that the defense paid the AARCA experts $23,000 to testify. However, during the first trial, when the defense asked the AARCA experts if they were compensated for their testimony, they clearly stated that they were not. Alessi passionately challenged the Commonwealth during the continuation of the hearing today, explaining that the $23,000 was sent after the trial concluded, and the AARCA experts consulted the Federal government before accepting the payment. The Federal government approved it, so was the defense supposed to decline?

Just because the defense paid the bill doesn’t imply they were trying to influence the AARCA experts to support their claim that Karen didn’t hit John O’Keeffe with her car. The experts made their determinations in reports back in March, and Hank Brennan misrepresented their findings to suggest otherwise.
The Commonwealth had the same chance as the defense to engage the AARCA experts but opted not to. If they had, would there be questions about payments? I doubt it. How much did the Commonwealth pay experts to testify about the alleged Google search that they claim didn’t happen? Interestingly, many media outlets and independent journalists who are supportive of Trump don’t discuss this. I believe it’s possible to support Trump while recognizing police corruption.
Where is the doorbell camera footage? Why wasn’t a body seen leaving the house that night, especially with a blanket of snow on the ground where headlights would illuminate the front lawn? The yard is actually much smaller than it appeared during the trial.
Moreover, the media doesn’t emphasize that the federal government instructed the defense to pay the AARCA experts after the trial had concluded. They often just report that the defense paid them without mentioning the Federal government’s involvement. This oversight feels lazy. Although we’ve been told the Federal investigation is completed, we didn’t hear anything confirming its closure today. Is it still open since the Federal government hasn’t issued a statement, relying only on anonymous sources? We’ll hopefully find out more next Tuesday at 9 AM.
