How Did Steve Rogers Die?

What did the MCU do with Steve Rogers? Did he die following Avengers: Endgame or is he somewhere with Peggy in a retirement home? No one knows for sure. Hopefully, we’ll get our answer with Captain America: Brave New World.

The last we saw of Rogers, he was turning the shield over to Sam. He was not the Steve that we grew to know. This version was old and married. In the last clips, we saw that he took Tony’s advice and went back to Peggy Carter. Now, this is where things get a bit weird.

The Steve Rogers that Peggy remembers is the skinny kid, not the buff Rodgers after the serum. However, the last shot of Rogers that we get in Endgame is the serum-taking Rodgers. But according to Sam after he was given the Shield, he said, “It’s hard to imagine a world without Captain America.”

So, now I’m confused.

Did Rogers take the serum or not when he went back? If he did, then that means he knew what was going on and decided not to be Captain America all those years and just hold on to the shield. But in that time, who or what was leading the Avengers, or was there even an Avengers?

Is Steve Rogers Dead

But the Super Soldier Serum was supposed to reduce the aging process. There is no way he could have taken the serum and still aged as he did in Endgame.

In clips of Captain America: Brave New World, Sam is seen visiting the gravesite of Steve Rogers. Maybe this is some other dimension but if the MCU is going with its Endgame approach, then the Steve Rogers we saw at the end of Endgame died, possibly of old age.

How long did he and Peggy live? In Winter Soldier, Steve was finally able to say his goodbyes. But since he went back and got some of that life he was missing, what was life like for the former Captain America?

Since Endgame, fans of the MCU have waited patiently for any news involving the possible return of Chris Evans. Will he return in this movie or make an appearance in one of the Disney Shows? But to no avail, the MCU has kept him away from everyone.

It appears the next time we get a Steve Rogers update, it will be at his funeral. This will be a hard pill to swallow for all the Rodgers and original Captain America fans. But it will always beg the question. What the hell happened to Steve Rogers when he went back to return the Infinity Stones?

Oh yeah, did Steve Rogers and Peggy have any kids?

To be continued…
