Season 6 of All American has the makings of a great one, but it’s still circling the wagon as far as recycled storylines go. However, the tension that’s brewing between Spencer James and Jordan Baker is keeping the season alive. But how long can these two continue to be at odds? Normally, this is when Billy Baker would step in and help, but with his death, there is no one these two friends/brothers can rely on.
GUA has two coaches at odds. The new offensive coordinator is gunning for Coach Kenny’s head spot and while doing so, he’s dividing the team. To be fair, what he’s doing with the offense is making the team better and Jordan as well. But on the flip side, he’s alienating Spencer who is poised to be a top 5 pick in the NFL Draft. But the team is winning and the ball is being spread around as it should.
However, in terms of TV, this is still the Spencer James show and with him being ignored, it may hurt his draft stock. But Jordan has found someone who is relying on him. What makes this more alarming is that this is what Spencer and Jordan went through when Spencer first arrived on the campus of Beverly High. Billy tailored the offense around Spencer and Jordan felt slighted.
What’s Going On With All American
With the lights and cameras shining bright on Spencer this season, the pressure is on, not just on him, but everyone. Jordan does have a claim to be utilized more. He’s a good QB and leader but with the new divide in the locker room, how will this affect his bond with Spencer? Their relationship extends off the football field in so many ways that this could be what tears them apart.
Throughout the show, they have had their fair share of arguments, issues, and even fights, but they have always found a way to get things right. Somehow, this seems to be a little different. High School is over. This is now about their future. This is making it to the NFL and while the story is solely focused on Spencer’s dream of making it there, Jordan has his dreams as well.
But what’s hurting them is that no one is there to say Spencer is wrong or Jordan is wrong. Billy was the guiding force on All American. But since his death, there has not been a male role model for these kids to look up to. A coach is supposed to be that guy but they have their own issues going on at GAU.
Will Spencer And Jordan Fix Their Relationship
As far as The Vortex on All American, Liv is batting issues and Layla is dealing with a new Lounge, planning a wedding, and her record company. Coop is in Law school and fighting feelings for Patience. Asher and Jaymee are diving into adult and parenthood. Laura is teaching and Grace is now married. Where is the help for Jordan and Spencer?
It’s tough to say this but the truth is, this is the real world. It’s on them to fix what’s wrong but they have people in their ears with their own agendas. This season of All American is about growth and right now, Spencer and Jordan are caught in the middle of dreams, friendships, and real life.
