Sorry, San Francisco 49ers fans but you aren’t winning Super Bowl LVIII. The Kansas City Chiefs will repeat and defeat the San Francisco 49ers in this year’s Super Bowl. Here are the reasons why Kansas City will repeat as Super Bowl Champions. Last year I selected the Kansas City Chiefs to beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII.
San Francisco Offense
As talented as the San Francisco 49ers offense are, they won’t score enough against the Kansas City defense. Deebo Samuel Brandon Aiyuk Christian McCaffrey George Kittle and Jajuan Jennings it won’t be because Brock Purdy isn’t a good enough quarterback either. The Kansas City Chiefs under Andy Reid with a two-week break will just come out and beat you up. Andy Reid is 19-3 in his career with a two-week break and he will go to 20-3 after Super Bowl LVIII.
Steve Spagnola will bring pressure on Brock Purdy and at least once in this game I see the Kansas City Chiefs getting an interception. I also see Kansas City Chiefs middle linebacker Nick Bolton recovering a fumble just as he did against the Philadelphia Eagles in last year’s Super Bowl game. Now had Bolton caught what should have been an interception against Jalen Hurts my selection for him to be a darkhorse Super Bowl MVP would have come to fruition. This time though I foresee cornerback Trent McDuffie getting the one interception off of Brock Purdy.
This isn’t the same San Francisco 49ers I grew up dealing with when Joe Montana could break your heart
For as good as folks say Patrick Mahomes is at the quarterback position this season the Kansas City Chiefs defense has won games for them. Chris Jones has been just as good for the Chiefs as Nick Bosa has been for the San Francisco 49ers. George Karlaftis has also brought plenty of heat onto opposing quarterbacks. Brock Purdy once again is no game manager as many have claimed he is. This Sunday night though the Kansas City Chiefs will beat Kyle Shanahan and his offense.
Kansas City Offense
The often-maligned Kansas City Chiefs offense will have enough in their tank to beat the San Francisco 49ers. Isiah Pacheco like Brock Purdy was drafted in the 7th round adjust like Purdy he has provided the Chiefs offense with a solid threat on the ground and through the air as well.
The biggest reason I selected the Kansas City Chiefs in this game isn’t Patrick Mahomes. It’s Travis Kelce and no it’s not because of Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift either.
Travis Kelce has simply been on fire for the Kansas City Chiefs and I believe he will exploit the San Francisco 49ers defense often enough to lead the Chiefs to victory on Sunday Night. For as great as Patrick Mahomes has been in the regular season his Super Bowl numbers are rather pedestrian. He only has a 79.7 passer rating and has thrown 4 interceptions with just 5 TDs.
However, I believe Patrick Mahomes finds Travis Kelce open enough to beat the 49ers. As well I believe Rashee Rice will be open against the weakness of the San Francisco 49ers defense and that’s been their secondary.
My Prediction
I have the Kansas City Chiefs beating the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 24-20. I just feel like they have enough juice in their system to beat San Francisco. As much as I would enjoy seeing the 49ers lose by a much wider margin (Yes I am a Dallas Cowboys fan after all) I just feel Andy Reid will find a way for his Kansas City Chiefs to come out on the field and get the job done.
My Super Bowl MVP selection is Travis Kelce. I look forward to his next commercial with Jason Klece and his ringtone says Suoer Bowl MVP!!!
