Bill Belichick was interviewed twice for the Atlanta Falcons job and was passed because he wanted too much power. Owner Arthur Blank wanted Belichick but the front office didn’t and convinced Blank to go in another direction. No team is going to want a 72-year-old coach who’s under .500 since 2019. Brings in his friends like Joe Judge and Matt Patricia to run things then Belichick undermines the people around him and does what he wants. That is what he did in New England but when you have the greatest quarterback of all time all that behind-the-scenes stuff of bad drafts and personal decisions gets pushed under the rug. However, when you start to lose that’s when those things start getting exposed.
Teams Around The League See What Bill Belichick Is Post Tom Brady
What Belichick did these last four seasons teams around the league see it. Maybe teams called the Patriots and asked the Krafts for their opinion as to why they have struggled recently. Their answer was probably bad roster management and destroying a first-round quarterback. Which is why he will never get the Panther’s job or the Commander’s job. Seattle wasn’t happening either because he probably didn’t want to move across the Country. Atlanta was the only chance he had but got turned away by the front office.
Bill Belichick Isn’t Going To The Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs rumor is a pipe dream. If Andy Reid does retire and Belichick goes there to coach he would be the biggest fraud. Did he go from Tom Brady to Patrick Mahomes? In between he’s under .500 and putting defensive and special teams coaches to run the offense? Why so he can break the Don Shula wins record? Let me tell you Mahomes doesn’t need Belichick to win games Mahomes can win championships on his own. It would be even better if Belichick went to the Chiefs and treated Mahomes like he did Brady at the end and Mc Jones. Don’t say his name in the offseason then bury him during the season. Mahomes being who he is would probably overcome that and still be elite though
No Team Trusts Belichick With A young Quarterback
No team is going to want Bill Belichick and his friends Joe Judge, Matt Patricia, and Josh McDaniels. The Patriots aren’t even considering bringing McDaniel’s back as offensive coordinator. Jerod Mayo keeps interviewing people from the West Coast offense. It’s reported that Nick Caley is the favorite to get the job after being passed on in 2022 for the OC job in favor of Belichick friends Patricia and Judge.
Belichick is very stubborn and likes things done his way. He hates change and doesn’t like offense the way it is today. The game is changing and he won’t change with the times. The Patriots offense only worked with one quarterback that’s it and Mac his rookie season. What Belichick did on offense in 2022 and 2023 bringing in zero talent and getting rid of talent is partly why Belichick won’t get a job. He drafted Kayshon Boutte in the 2023 draft and got rid of Jakobi Meyers. In the first game of the season Boutte caught a pass and didn’t keep both feet in bounds I wonder if he bet against the Patriots that game?
Senior Bowl executive Jim Nagy spoke to WEEI last week and said this about what happened to Mac Jones in New England.
That is one of the reasons Belichick isn’t coaching the Patriots and can’t find a job. The way he treated Mac Jones and did nothing to help the offense. If he surrounded Mac with an offensive line and some talent he would’ve gotten the wins record already and could retire. But nope, his ego got in the way and here we are.
