So long Dak Prescott. I have stood with you through thick and thin after tonight’s game though I’m finished with standing with you. I’m also done standing up for Ceedee Lamb and I’m truly done sticking up for Mike McCarthy as well. The Dallas Cowboys were embarrassing to watch against the San Francisco 49ers. I am writing this right after watching another disastrous performance by the Cowboys.
Mostly though I am yet again fed up with Jerry Jones. The owner of the franchise has sold us all over and over again on how great his guys are. I’m sick to death with seeing “his guys” fail when they are called upon to go out and beat a great opponent.
Coach Mike McCarthy
The Texas Coast Offense failed miserably against the 49ers. Dak Prescott was sadly picked off three times and he injured a finger on his throwing hand. So I wish to ask head coach Mike McCarthy an easy question. Why in the hell did you have your team defer the ball to the second half? Why would you give a fired-up crowd and their offense the ball first? Seriously why not give Dak Prescott the opportunity to get the Cowboys on the board first?
Now I’m not saying it would have made a difference, not the way the Dallas Cowboys played football in Santa Clara. How do you give the 49ers the ball first though? Knowing how this Dallas Cowboys defense has responded in the two previous losses to the Niners?
Why oh why did it take until the 4th quarter for you to call a play to Tony Pollard that used him effectively? That’s why so many in Cowboys Nation love Tony Pollard because he is an excellent receiver out of the backfield as he showed when it was far too late. Instead, you ran him up the gut against the Niners. As Jeff Barnes says often on The Last Word and on Moving The Chains coaching stupidity is a disease and head coach Mike McCarthy I’m tired of seeing you being stupid. I have never felt that Tony Pollard is anywhere near the running back that Christian McCaffrey is and I remain proven correct.
This is another reason why Jerry Jones drives me nuts. His refusal to give up the reigns has cost Dallas Cowboys fans yet again. No difference between Jason Garrett and Mike McCarthy. When a game really matters the most the coaching staffs fail every damn time!!
Dallas Cowboys Players
When oh when will you guys show up in a game that matters? I can’t blame every piss poor decision you guys made on the field on the coaches. No oh no. Micah Parsons, where were you against the Niners? Dak Prescott, where were you?
Dak Prescott I don’t want to hear any excuses from you. I’ve heard enough excuses out of you and mostly I have supported you as the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. Not after what I saw from you in the game against the 49ers. That was an unacceptable performance from you and you have let down Cowboys Nation yet again. I’m tired of seeing the games where you play well to great against weaker teams yet every time you are called upon to be great against the best teams you fail again and again.
I understand all too well how hard it is to win games in the NFL. I also know when you guys are beaten by your own minds. Dak Prescott, you’re not winning a Super Bowl game for the Dallas Cowboys. I understand how good of a person you are off the field. I know why you were the Walter Payton Man of the Year winner last season. However, this Dallas Cowboys fan wants to see his Dallas Cowboys back in the Super Bowl and when I see what I saw on the field tonight I know you’re not going to win a Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys.
I also come back to Jerry Jones and his insistence on keeping Dak Prescott as the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. I know next season Dak Prescott will cost the Dallas Cowboys $59.4 million against the salary cap. So you can bet good old JJ will re-sign Dak Prescott. I say it’s time to trade away Dak Prescott but while I finally admit that part I remain convinced good old Jerry Jones will keep Dak Prescott as he just loves his guys.
Good old Jerry Jones has sold us all a spoiled fanbase that deserves to be given every bit of derision that we deserve to receive after another lame performance by the players for the Dallas Cowboys.
Frustrated For Another Year
I will forever be a Dallas Cowboys fan and that’s something engrained in me for the past 54 seasons. The first twenty-five seasons were fantastic even when we would lose to the Niners in the NFC Championship games. This group of coaches and players have disappointed me yet again and I remain a FRUSTRATED Dallas Cowboys fan.
Most of my frustration stems from you though Jerry Jones. Learn what other franchises have learned when you’re good but not great you go out and spend money on free agents, guys who have won a Super Bowl, guys who know exactly what it takes to beat a San Francisco 49ers team. You don’t continue down the merry path you’ve had the Dallas Cowboys going down for 28 seasons in a row. That means you also deal away good players who have never been able to perform when it matters the most.
If it requires a couple of seasons of tanking then so be it. Go out and get this roster of the players they need to bring home another Super Bowl title Jerry Jones. I’m tired of seeing and hearing you speak so glowingly about your guys. Your guys failed yet again tonight and I’m sick of this nonsense.
I’ve seen the Dallas Cowboys win these 5 Lombardi Trophy and I want to see them win another one. Not with this cast of characters. That won’t happen and Jerry Jones you are the man responsible.
As always you can find me on X @GregCowboys
