Aaron Rodgers was hurt Monday night during the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills game. Some felt the pain, offered prayers, and then there were those who rejoiced. Damn, did the Jets and Aaron Rodgers really put fear in your hearts like that?
No one wants to see a player get hurt. There were a few who went down Sunday in their first game of the season and there were no claps, no memes or name-calling. However, as soon as Rodgers went down, the memes came out and so did the jokes. Even if you don’t like the man as a QB or person, who wants to see that? Fans of the other AFC East teams are having a blast on social media. But why? Shouldn’t you want to beat the Jets when they’re at their best? Shouldn’t you want to beat them with Aaron Rodgers under center? So, you’re cool continuing to beat up on Zach Wilson? Now who’s the loser?
In Green Bay, it’s probably more of the same with their fans. For fans of the New York Jets, it’s all tears. The feeling that their season may be over is all too real. But it still begs the question of what’s so damn funny when a player goes down? All I see is fear. Rodgers getting hurt opened the door in the AFC. Fans understand that. Now they want to rub it in Jets fans’ faces, but why?
Can The New York Jets Win Without Rodgers
If Patrick Mahomes goes down, social media will blow up with heartfelt wishes for a speedy return. The same goes for any other major player. But here goes Rodgers and all the hoopla that followed the team and this is exactly what people wanted. Damn, that says a lot about a person’s makeup. People are treating this like Rodgers stole $20 out of their wallets while they were sleeping.
Fear brings out the worst in a person. While all the jokes could be viewed as competitive fun, at the end of the day, it just shows how much fear the New York Jets pairing with Aaron Rodgers placed in your hearts. Even with Rodgers down, the Jets still managed to beat the Bills and yet, there are some who still can’t give them their respect. They beat one of the top teams, not only in the AFC East or the AFC, but the NFL as a whole. And why are they not ranked in most Top 10’s across the board when it comes to Week 1 Power Rankings?
What did the Jets and Rodgers do that has so many trapped in their feelings? It reminds me of the issues the New England Patriots faced with all the cheating scandals that went on. If you can’t beat them, then pray for their downfall, right? Let’s get something clear here, I am not a fan of the Jets. That is not my team. My favorite QB in the NFL is not Rodgers. I have no horse in the race here. But what I do like is fairness across the board.
Will Rodgers Return To The New York Jets
The New York Jets and Rodgers didn’t ask for all the media attention. Those who have never lived in NYC, will never fully understand that. The attention just comes with the territory. It’s just how it is here. Not my fault you live in West Bubble F*** and there is only one local newspaper or TV station. This is an era where social media runs everything and Rodgers was the big catch this offseason. But does that mean during an injury, that’s a laughing matter?
Fear is an ugly thing. Just admit it, you’re happy because of what the New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers represented.
