The Los Angeles Lakers have put themselves in a good situation to avoid the play-In-Tournament and possibly enter into the playoffs as the number six seed.
The Lakers bounced back and beat the Chicago Bulls in dominating fashion after the Bulls came into the Crypto Arena and outlasted the Lakers.
With only six games left in the regular season, the Los Angeles Lakers have a 38-38 record, and it feels like there’s another gear they can go to.
The Western Conference has been a roller coaster all season. It’s only one game separating the 4th through the 8th seed.
The seeding in the Western Conference is unpredictable, and anything can happen at this point in the season.
One of the main reasons why the Lakers have a realistic chance at being the sixth seed is because of Anthony Davis.
Davis finished the game with 38 points, nine rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks. The Lakers will need Davis to play that way if the Lakers want to compete for a championship.
Anthony Davis is someone that has the ability to be the best player every night he plays on the court. However, Davis always doesn’t bring the same intensity, and he picks and chooses when he wants to be the best version of himself.
For the past few seasons, LeBron James has wanted to hand the baton to Davis for some time now, but Davis has yet to embrace the moment and be the best player because the Los Angeles Lakers will go far as Davis takes them.
Moving forward, Davis has to be the guy Laker nation wants him to be.
LeBron James is playing himself back into shape since he missed thirteen games due to a foot injury.
James is well rested and with the mileage on James’s body. Getting some weeks off could be a good thing for James entering the playoffs.
In the history of the game, LeBron James has made a name for himself as one of the greatest clutch players in the postseason.
Against the Bulls, James finished the game with 25 points in his return to the starting lineup after coming off the bench the previous game against the Bulls.
The Los Angeles Lakers may have the best duo in the NBA. Anthony Davis and LeBron James are both top 10 players when healthy.
Most teams can’t say they have two top 10 players on the same team. The Lakers also have a legit supporting cast since the trade deadline.
Players such as D’Angelo Russell, Troy Brown, Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Mo Bamba have been a blessing because the Lakers addressed all the issues they had prior to the trade deadline.
Austin Reaves has raised his level of play since after the all-star break. Reaves has been one of the Lakers’ best role players for the past few weeks, and his play will play a big part in the Lakers’ closing the regular season and the postseason.
Closing the season; will the Lakers live up to the challenge, or will the moment be too big for them?
