MCU: Kang Saying He Killed Thor Is Fake, Right?

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania is set to be released this February and fans are buzzing about the setup for Phase 5 of the MCU. With Thanos dead and Marvel looking to move on to another villain, Kang the Conqueror has taken center stage. But will he be as menacing and as unforgiven as Thanos was? If the early returns are true, then we’re in for quite a ride with Kang.

With Ant-Man and the Wasp promos dropping, there was a particular scene that had fans a bit worried, excited, and confused. Kang tells Ant-Man that he has already killed him. But wait. Kang, for some strange reason, believes that Ant-Man is Thor as he states, “you’re not the one with the hammer.” Wait. Is Kang saying he killed Thor? If so, when did this happen?

With Kang able to move through and manipulate time, we’re guessing that Quantamania takes place possibly After Avengers 5 or after Thor: Love and Thunder. Or, maybe Kang catches up with Thor possibly in Guardians of the Galaxy 3. There is no other way for this to work. And that means that maybe Scott and company have been in the Quantum Realm for some time and that Lang may not be in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

How Does Kang Kill Thor In The MCU

But also, if Kang did indeed battle Thor, he doesn’t seem to remember Thor’s face. Last I checked, Thor didn’t wear anything hiding his identity so how could Kang get Thor and Lang confused? With that being said, killing Thor is no small feat. And that was something that even Thanos was not able to do. How powerful will they make Kang in the MCU?

The MCU storylines have connected from the movies to the TV shows so there is no way that line was put in by mistake. Thor is one of the last remaining original Avengers and much like Captain American, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow, and even Hawkeye, at some point they will have to be replaced and written out. But how is the question?

Here is a theory to rest on. With Secret Invasion set to drop later this year, there could be a chance that the Thor that Kang kills, is not the Thor we know. The Skrulls could have set this up and there is a good chance that Kang will see the original Thor in Avengers 5 and be surprised.

If we’re going by Kang’s comments and feeding into the MCU mystery of it all, somewhere down the line, Thor dies. It’s just a matter of when? What move does he perish in and if Kang did indeed fight Thor before we get to Avengers 5, what other Avengers did he come in contact with?

MCU fans are still grieving over the loss of Iron Man and Black Widow but according to the rumors and promos for Quantamania, there is a good chance Ant-Man could see his final days. If the MCU loses Ant-Man, there is still hope. What we see also in the trailers that’s not mentioned too much is that his daughter Cassie has a suit like her father’s. Is she next to take the mantle from her father?
