The Philadelphia Eagles have put their stamp on the NFL and with that, comes harder trials. labeled as a team with an easy schedule last season, the Eagles made sure to stick to their plan. The goal was not to play down to their competition, but to beat whoever was placed in front of them. But that’s the thing about schedules, no one knows who will be who before the ball is kicked off.
While fans and analysts say the Eagles had an easy road to their 14 wins, no one cared to really examine who they played. The win/loss record of opponents for the 2022-23 season was 105-129 (not including the Playoffs). On the outside looking in, not the toughest of schedules but what team played a schedule of all winners?
Looking at the 2023-24 schedule for the Philadelphia Eagles, it’s more of the same. But with a slight twist. The NFL decided to either punish the Eagles or praise them with a top-tier schedule. But will it pan out the way many are hoping? No one knows how any teams will turn out. Look at the Detroit Lions from last season or the Jacksonville Jaguars. It’s still a 50/50 game out here.
The Philadelphia Eagles will take on their NFC East rivals 2 times with one game being at home and the other on the road. The NFC East is still a dangerous division with the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and the Washington Commanders and neither posted a losing record last season. No win will be easy there.
The Eagles will open their season on the road against the New England Patriots then come home to face the Minnesota Vikings before heading back on the road to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the 4th game, they will take on the Commanders before back-to-back road games against the Los Angeles Rams and New York Jets.
Philadelphia Eagles Has The Toughest NFL Schedule
Weeks 7-9, will see the Eagles host the Miami Dolphins before traveling to take on the Commanders then fly off to Texas to face the Dallas Cowboys right before their Bye Week. It’s fair to say that the first half of the schedule will not be considered a cakewalk by any means.
After their Bye, the Philadelphia Eagles will begin their 2nd half journey as they travel to Kansas City to take on the reigning Champs Chiefs in a Super Bowl rematch. From there, it’s back to Lincoln Financial Field to face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills followed by their NFC Championship opponent, the San Francisco 49ers.
Following the 49ers the Eagles will hit the road in back-to-back weeks to battle the Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks. From there, it’s two straight Home Games to face the Giants and the Arizona Cardinals before finishing the season on the road against the Giants.
As talented as the Philadelphia Eagles are, this schedule is not for the faint of heart. They will have to be on their A-game every week if they wish to replicate their success from the prior season. There will be no weak schedule talk here as the Eagles have the hardest schedule in the NFL this coming season. That’s what winning gets you. Good luck.
