The Philadelphia Eagles are sitting at 2-0 early in the 2022-23 NFL season. And with the way the team is playing after their two impressive victories over the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings, there’s a good chance they could be undefeated at the Bye in Week 7.
I know, all games must still be played on the field where anything can happen but on paper, this seems to be a sure thing. The Lions’ game was a bit of a surprise but truth be told, the Lions could be the surprise team in the NFL this season. The Vikings appeared to be a good contest but the Eagles scored first and never looked back.
Going forward, the Philadelphia Eagles will play the Washington Commanders in Week 3. Division games are always tough but Washington is coming off a close win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and just lost to those same Lions. For the Eagles, it’s added incentive as they will go against their former QB in Carson Wentz.
The Philadelphia Eagles Are Rolling
In Week 4, the Eagles will have a home date against the Jaguars and while Trevor Lawrence has their ship rolling at 1-1, the Eagles will do battle against the coach who led them to their only Super Bowl win in franchise history. This is not the same team Pederson celebrated with and just like the week before against Washington, the Eagles will have a personal reason to come out strong against the Jags.
In Week 5, they will travel to Arizona to take on the Cardinals and Kyler Murray. While this game could be a toss-up, the Cards have not shown they’re ready for the primetime teams. A last-minute win against the Las Vegas Raiders was a welcomed sight, but this Eagles team could be on a roll by the time they reach Arizona.
In Week 6, the Eagles will do battle against their NFC East nemesis, the Dallas Cowboys. Even with Dak Prescott out, the Cowboys managed to beat the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. If Hurts and the offense are still clicking on all cylinders and the defense plays as they did against the Vikings, this could be another win in the books.
The Philadelphia Eagles are sitting pretty good now at 2-0. However, this league is full of professionals who want nothing more than to knock the wind out of another team’s sails. It’s still early in the year where anything can happen but as it looks right now after two weeks, the Eagles could very easily run the table up to their Bye Week.
