The Tampa Bay Buccaneers look to rebound from the 26-24 loss to the #Finsup in their preseason opener. While the starters rested, we had the chance to see the depth of this team compete. This week, they are having joint practices with the #Titanup. So far, the practices have gotten a bit chippy at times, but cooler heads have prevailed. The most notable thing we have seen in training camp is a key Buccaneer that is absent.
Disappearing Act:
Tom Brady has been absent since last week due to a personal matter. According to the team, they knew the situation as it was pre-planned. Blaine Gabbert has been getting the starter reps in his absence. Kyle Trask has been running the second unit. We do not expect Tom Brady to play in the preseason at this point.
Driving The Bus:
Blaine Gabbert got the start, while Kyle Trask played the balance of the game. Both were efficient and moved the football. Blaine Gabbert capped off his night with a touchdown pass on the second series of the game. Kyle Trask would also find the end zone but followed his touchdown pass up with an interception and fumble on back-to-back series that led to the Dolphins taking the lead before the half.
The interception was a great play to avoid a sack, but an even better play by the #Finsup linebacker ripping the ball away from the running back on the check down. On the next offensive play, a missed block by his left tackle allowed a free rusher to blindside him for a sack-fumble that would be returned for a touchdown.
The Tampa Bay Hurt Pack:
As Chris Godwin continues to work back from his surgery, Mike Evans continues to rehab his sore hamstring. Add Russell Gage with a leg injury to the receivers that won’t practice or play this week. Breshad Perriman exited practice two weeks ago with a leg injury and missed the game versus the Dolphins. It is unclear if he will play versus Tennessee.
