What a weekend it was for D.C. United fans. We went on the road to Miami go down 2-0 and stage a comeback to earn a point in a 2-2 draw and perhaps gained some much needed confidence in the process. The weather delay due to a classic Maimi storm pushed back the start time 75 minutes and Inter struck first with a goal in the 31st minute and another one on a you guessed it a set piece. But showing no quit the black and red got on the board before the half as our favorite forward Taxiarchis Fountas took the Michael Estrada pass and scored his 5th goal of the season a good way to end the first 45.
We had to wait until the 74th minute to see the game get tied off of a Ola Kamara goal but that would not make the ending any easier. After getting yellow card number 2 Chris Durkin was sent off and DCU held on with just 10 men. Sitting at 4-5-1 and sitting in 8th place in the eastern conference. Up next is a Wednesday home game with NYFC who sits 4 points ahead so a win would be a nice bump up the standings. If you look at the stats this is a game Miami should have won but they didn’t and one would hope this fight from DCU is a booster. We can not talk enough about what a signing Taxi has been so far this season. We do it again on Wednesday!
