Bucks vs Celtics:
The Boston Celtics swept that Brooklyn Nets in the first round and the Milwaukee Bucks dominated the Chicago Bulls in 5 games. It is a shame that we are watching these two teams play against each other in the 2nd round. Most believe they should be playing for a chance to get to the NBA Finals.
Jason Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart are averaging 68 points and 15 rebounds combined. Veteran Al Horford is playing like his is 25, not 35. This Celtics team has a feistiness and killer instinct under rookie coach, Ime Udoka. They never had that under Brad Stevens.
The Milwaukee Bucks did not miss a beat despite losing Khris Middleton to a sprained MCL. Middleton is expecting to miss the first four games of this series and possible more. Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 28 points and 13 rebounds per game. He is the most dominant NBA player left in the post-season. Jrue Holiday is averaging 16 points and 7 assists. He will need to score over 20 points a night for this team to win the series.
Prediction:
Without Middleton, The Bucks will struggle to score points. This Celtics team finished the 2nd half of the year with a 31-10 record for a reason. They are the best team in the Eastern Conference. I am going with the upset.
Celtics win in 6 games
Warriors vs Memphis:
The Grizzlies are the feel good story of the NBA. No one anticipated they would be this good, this quickly. Their young nucleus of players have all blossomed this season. Desmond Bane and Ja Morant are averaging 23 and 21 points per game in the post-season. Dillon Brooks is scoring 16 points as their No.3 option.
The Warriors appear to be the favorite to come out of the Western Conference. Klay Thompson is shooting 50% from the field and 45% from three point range. Stephen Curry has come back for an injury with a vengeance. He scored 28 points per game against Denver. Jordan Poole is a perfect 3rd option on this team and Andrew Wiggins was an all-star this year. Draymond Green continues to be the glue that holds this team together.
Prediction:
The Grizzlies will not be intimidated. They are young but they are confident. They will give the Warriors problems but Golden State should win this series.
Warriors in 6 games.
