5 Things We Learned About Week 4 In The NFL:
Ben Roethlisberger is done in Pittsburgh:
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a record of 1-3.. They are in last place in the AFC North. Roethlisberger’s arm is shot. Week in and week out, he cannot stretch the field and he is missing open wide receivers all over the field. “Big Ben” is completing 64% of his passes, he has 4 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. This offense is getting worse every week, in part because the Steelers quarterback is ranked 29th in yards passing per completion. They are averaging 6.1 yards per reception. Defenses are stacking the box and daring Pittsburgh to throw it deep downfield. Mike Tomlin has never had a losing record as a head coach, but I would be shocked if the Steelers win 6 games with Ben as their starter all season.
Are the Arizona Cardinals for real?
Kliff Kingsbury was known as an offensive coach at Texas Tech. His teams scored points, but he never won games. He was 19-35 in the Big XII before he was fired. In his first two seasons in Arizona, he compiled a record of 5-10 and 8-8. The Cardinals defeated the Los Angeles Rams 37-30 on Sunday. The score doesn’t indicate how lopsided this game was. Arizona has scored 30 or more points and accumulated over 400 total yards in offense in each game this season. Teams do not seem to have an answer for Kyler Murray or Kingsbury’s offense. They are the only undefeated team remaining in the NFL.
Are the Bills the best team in the NFL?
The Buffalo Bills shoutout the Houston Texans on Sunday, 40-0. Since losing to the Steelers in week 1, Buffalo has outscored their opponents, 118-21 and they have pitched shutouts in two of their last 3 games. Josh Allen has 10 total touchdowns and only 2 interceptions. He is completing 63% of his passes and is averaging 296 passing yards per game. This team is well-coached and both sides of the ball. Their defense will be tested Sunday night as they host Kansas City.
Justin Herbert is the best quarterback in the AFC:
Justin Herbert is 23- yards old. Over the past 2 seasons, he has been the best quarterback in the NFL. Herbert is the 1st quarterback since 1950 to have 500 completions before his 20th start.
Since week 2 of last season:
- 1st in Completions.
- 2nd in 300-yard passing games.
- 3rd in total yards.
This season:
- 7-1 record in his last 8 games, with two different coaches.
- Completing 68% of his passes.
- Averaging 294.5 yards per game.
- Has a passer rating of 100.1.
Herbert is my clear choice for MVP.
I have seen enough of Urban Meyer coaching football.

After an 0-4 start in Jacksonville, Urban Meyer was caught on video, with a woman who appears to be 20 years younger than him. Urban gave a half-ass apology that no one is buying. Urban did not apologize because he felt bad for his wife, his family, and the Jaguars organization. He apologized because he got caught. Meyer is a bully, a misogynist, and a total fraud as a human being. Despite preaching the need to respect women, Meyer did nothing when it came to dealing with former Ohio State wide receivers coach Zach Smith, who had a history of domestic abuse.
Ohio State fired the assistant after ex-wife Courtney Smith got an order of protection, Meyer lied about what he knew and when. Meyer also covered up numerous problems with his Florida Gators. I coached for over 10 years and had tremendous success on the collegiate level and AAU. I always put my players and my team first. Meyer has always put himself first and I have had enough of his BS on and off the field. Jacksonville deserves better.
