Chris Paul has been the answer for the Phoenix Suns since they traded for him back in November of 2020.
Paul is one of the elite point guards in the NBA, and he’s also one of the greatest point guards to ever play in the NBA.
Before the Suns trading for Paul. The Phoenix Suns went 8-0 in the bubble.
Despite, the Suns going undefeated in the bubble they still didn’t make the playoffs. The Phoenix Suns did show they were a team on the rise and all they needed was the missing piece to the puzzle.
The missing piece to the Puzzle was a 35-year-old veteran by the name of Chris Paul.
Paul was with the Oklahoma City Thunder before he was traded to the Suns. In one year with the Thunder Paul turned a team that was supposed to be in the lottery before the season started and played a competitive 7- game series against the Houston Rockets in the first- round.
Seeing Paul do what he did with the Thunder and how he rallied everyone around him with lesser talent than most teams. It made you wonder what he could do if he had elite talent around him.
When Paul was traded to the Suns his impact was going to play a big role especially since they already had Devin Brooker and Deandre Ayton.
The Suns have not made the playoffs since 2010 when they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Suns had the talent and the right coaching. All they needed was a player that could lead and raise everybody’s play on the court.
Since Paul’s first game with the Suns, they have been one of the best and most exciting teams to watch in the NBA this season.
The Suns have a (44-18) record, and they have the 2nd best record in the Western Conference. The Suns clinched their first playoff berth in 11 years as they beat the Clippers 109-101.
The Suns went (34-39) last season with the 10th seed in the Western Conference. One of the main reasons why the Suns are having the season they’re having is because of Paul. [pickup_prop id=”6449″]
Paul is averaging 16.1 points per game, 8.7 assists per game, and 4.7 rebounds per game. Paul is shooting 48% from the field and 38% from the three-point range.
The way Paul elevates other players around him and how he raises his teammate’s game is one of the reasons why Paul should be a candidate for MVP.
Paul is a winner on every team he goes to. He increases their win percentage. Everything he does contributes to wins directly to winning. Although he has never been in the NFL finals, it’s clear that most teams are better with Paul than without. Many teammates have praised him in the past.
Before Paul was drafted to the Hornets there win percentage was .220 and after Paul left the Hornets there win percentage was .463. The Clippers wins percentage was .390 and after Paul left there was .606.
The Rockets had a .671 percentage before Paul and .793 after Paul left. The Thunder win percentage was .598 before Paul arrived and .611-win percentage after Paul left.
Paul is currently playing with the Suns now and their win percentage was .466 and their win percentage is now .720 because of Paul.
His impact is flawless and that’s why he should be an MVP candidate.
