35, 33, 33. Those have been the point totals for St. John’s guard Leilani Correa over her last three games. The sophomore from Manchester, New Jersey has been on a tear for the Johnnies, leading the team in scoring with 21.7 PPG putting her second in the BIG EAST. In a St. Johns team that has lost close games and struggled with injuries, Correra has been the team’s bright spot this season.
Is it too soon to call her the 🐐?

On the back of dropping 30 plus points in three consecutive games, with one of those games against No. 2 UConn and Paige Bueckers, Correra was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Feb. 1st. Since then she was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the 5th time this season.
Correa is having a breakout season for the Red Storm, to say the least as she has now thrust her name into the BIG EAST Player of the Year discussion for performance so far this season. She now sits with five 30 point games this year that puts her at eight 30 point games for her career. She is also the first player in St. John’s history to have three straight 30 point performances in a row.
She continues to build off of last year’s season as she took home the BIG EAST Sixth-Women Award as a Freshman while being selected to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team. Correa will look to keep up her scoring record going Saturday, Feb. 13th as the Red Storm travel away to Indianapolis to take on the Butler Bulldogs at 1 P.M.
