The Miami Heat shocked the NBA world last season by winning the Eastern Conference title and making it to the NBA Finals. The Heat lost to LeBron James and the Lakers in 6 games. For the first time since LeBron was in South Beach, Miami has championship expectations.
Erik Spoelstra enters his 13th season in Miami with one of the best teams he has ever had. The Heat have a perfect mix of veterans and young players.
- Jimmy Butler averaged 19 points, 6.7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.
- Goran Dragic spent most of the 2019-20 season coming off the bench but averaged 16 points per contest.
- Bam Adebayo was a double/double machine. He averaged 15.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 5.1 assists.
Kendrick Nunn, Tyler Herro, and Duncan Robinson all averaged over 13 points per game. With a year under their belt and an NBA finals appearance, all three should improve on those stats and playing time.
The Heat added veteran, 2-way guard, Avery Bradley from the Lakers. Bradley is an elite defender who can shoot the open three.
Pat Riley and Spoelstra have built a good team that has a ton of chemistry. Butler appears to be a perfect fit and leader in Miami. Anything less than an Eastern Conference appearance should be viewed as a letdown of a season. The Heat are back on top in the East
