The AFC conference appears to be much better than the NFC Conference. There are several good teams in the NFC, but no one appears to be elite.
Top 10 NFL Power Rankings:
10) Tampa Bay Buccaneers, (7-4):
Tom Brady has looked old and slow against quality teams. Bruce Arians vertical passing game does not seem to be a fit for Brady.
9) Green Bay Packers, (7-3):
The scouting report is out on Green Bay. If you can run the ball and be physical on defense, The packers fold like a chair. The Packers Red Zone defense has been terrible. They are giving up points over 90% of the time when a team is inside the 20-yard line.
8) Indianapolis Colts, (7-3):
Phillip Rivers has not been great under center, but he has only been sacked 9 times on the season. This Colts defense is particularly good. They are ranked 2nd, only giving up 313 yards per game.
7) Buffalo Bills, (7-3):
Josh Allen is completing 68% of his passes and has 26 total touchdowns. Stefon Diggs is leading the NFL with 73 receptions on the years.
6) Tennessee Titans, (7-3):
Ryan Tannehill has 5 game winning drives, that leads the NFL. Derrick Henry continues to be the powerhouse behind this offense. He leads the NFL in rushing and has 9 touchdowns.
5) Seattle Seahawks, (7-3):
The Seahawks defense has been terrible all season long. They should improve with Safety Jamal Adams and Defensive lineman, Carlos Dunlop. Seattle has the easiest remaining schedule. They could go 12-4. If Russell Wilson has the ball, they have a chance to win.
4) Los Angeles Rams, (7-3):
The Rams could be the most complete team on offense and defense in the NFC. Jared Goff is 25-5 when he gets sacked fewer than 2 times. Sean McVay is 32-0 when leading at halftime.
3) New Orleans Saints, (8-2):
The Saints have won 7 straight games. They have done this despite having injuries to Michael Thomas and Drew Brees. The story of this team has been their defense. They are only giving up 74.3 rushing yards per game and only allowing 22.8 points per contest. With a great defense and Alvin Kamara at running back, this team could make a deep playoff run.
2) Pittsburgh Steelers, (10-0):
The Steelers could have the best defense in the NFL. They are only giving up 17 points per game and they lead the NFL in sacks. Their offense has been inconsistent at times, but they are scoring 29.8 points points per game. The Steelers are the most complete team in the league, and I give them a 65% chance to go undefeated.
1) Kansas City Chiefs, (9-1):
The Chiefs have won 15 out of their last 16 games. Patrick Mahomes is completing 67.9% of his passes, has 27 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions. This team is not great defensively, but they can get sacks and cause turnovers late in games. Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL playing from behind.
