Redskins current draft picks:
1st Round: 2nd pick, 2nd overall
3rd Round: 2nd pick, 66th overall
4th Round: 2nd pick, 108th overall
4th Round: 36th pick, 142nd overall
5th Round: 16th pick, 162nd overall
7th Round: 2nd pick, 216th overall
7th Round: 15th pick, 229th overall
Tight End
The Redskins signed Richard Rodgers and Logan Thomas in free agency. However, neither of them are starting-caliber TEs. I expect them to take a TE in the third or fourth round. My #1 TE in this draft is Brycen Hopkins, and I think there is a real chance he is there in the third or fourth round.
Offensive Line
With Trent Willimas most likely to be traded and Ereck Flowers signing with the Dolphins, the Redskins need O-line help. Washington brought in G Wes Schweitzer and OT Cornelius Lucas from free agency. These are depth signings if anything. However, Schweitzer could compete with Wes Martin for the starting role at LG.
Sadly for the Redskins, they do not have a second-round pick, so it will be hard to find an O-lineman with the ability to start right away after their first pick. I expect them to take a WR or TE in the third round, which leaves them with a lineman taken in the fourth round or later.
Wide Receiver
This draft class is loaded with WRs. The Ravens GM said that WRs taken in the fifth round could possibly have an impact on teams. I expect them to take one in the 3rd and/or 4th round. Do not forget, Terry McLaurin was taken in the 3rd round last year.
As of now, McLaurin is the only dependable WR the Redskins have. Steven Sims ended the season on a strong note, but he is no guarantee to be a reliable target next year.
Cornerback
Kendall Fuller was a solid signing, but Dunbar being traded to the Seahawks once again left the Redskins with a hole at CB. They also signed Ronald Darby, and Rivera seems to have confidence in him. Darby was a solid CB in Buffalo but struggled immensely in Philadelphia.
I would not be surprised if Rivera takes a CB some point in this draft.
