Chargers fans can be optimistic that their team will contend again after this draft. Their draft oozes value at each pick. Getting a much needed starter in Jerry Tillery who is a steal at 28. Adderly will be the perfect safety to pair with Derwin James. Trey Pipkins is a pick that has a lot of upside. He is a big and athletic tackle prospect that is still very raw. Drue Tranquill will slide inside and provide depth and ad special teams value. He can eventually compete after a period of adjustment to start inside. Easton Stick is a talented young passer that can learn from Rivers. He can also provide a quality back-up. Emeke Egbule is easily overlooked. He will make a name for himself on special teams. Cortez Broughton brings another big body inside. He will be a solid rotational player. There weren’t any reaches in my opinion and every pick is a good fit.

The Chiefs have spent all offseason looking to improve their leaky defense. New scheme and revamping their defensive front has led to a limited amount of picks. Recent developments involving Tyreek Hill have also left them searching for another explosive player. Without a 1st round pick the did manage to add another 2nd round pick. Hardman was taken in the second round to help add big play ability with Hill out. Juan Thornhill was added to replace longtime Chief Eric Berry. Khalen Saunders will look to take over as the starting 3-technique with the change to a 4-3 defense. Rashard Fenton will compete for playing time on special teams and sub packages. Darwin Thompson and Nick Allegretti are competing for depth positions. Thompson will look to sneak some carries in as well.

The first draft of the Gruden/Mayock tandem started with a bang. With three 1st round picks they too Clelin Ferrell with the 4th pick. A surprise move as very few saw him in the Top 5 more or less the Top 10. They also added Josh Jacobs and Johnathan Abram in the 1st round. Jacobs will help fill the void left by the retirement of Marshawn Lynch. Abram give the Raiders the enforcer they have been searching for in the secondary for some time. Trayvon Mullen Wil jump right in and compete to play opposite Gareon Conley or at least work in on sub packages. Maxx Crosby will add more pop to a lackluster pass rush. Isaiah Johnson is a long corner that plays physical. Foster Moreau give the Raiders a blocking tight end with the ability to get vertical down the field. Hunter Renfrow will look to bring his Clemson production to Oakland. Quinton Bell will look to earn as many pass rush opportunities as he can. The Ferrell pick was a shocker and he was a reach. Overall it was still a solid draft for the Raiders.

The Broncos made some moves and still managed to get their players. First trading out of the Top 10, then adding Noah Fant. Fant is a big athletic target that will cause some matchup problems. Then in the second the Broncos added both Dalton Risner and Drew Lock It’s not every year you add a starting lineman and quarterback in the same round. Lock can at a very economical price. Dre’Mont Jones will come in can add some quality talent to the defensive line. Justin Hollins will add edge pressure to the defense. He is long and athletic with the ability to effect the passer or drop into coverage. Juwann Winfree adds special teams value. John Elway has to be proud of the job he and his staff did. .
