Is Lebron James uncoachable? I’m a hardcore non-Bron guy. That being said, his talent, and off-the-court doings cannot be denied. The man is a phenomenal player, and even better person off the court. He’s getting bashed because of a report that’s come out saying he’s unhappy with Luke Walton and the direction the Lakers are heading. He’s gotten plenty of coaches fired, previously. However, he’s also never had the pleasure of playing for a Phil Jackson, a Gregg Popovic, a Pat Riley (as a coach). Most of the greats of my generation had one of these guys at the helm. Jordan, Pippen, Kobe, Shaq, Wade, Duncan, Garnett, all have had top-tier coaches in the league. Lebron has never had that luxury. He’s always had to do more than strictly be a great player.
Let’s be honest, Magic Johnson is at the helm for LA, does anyone legitimately believe that Luke Walton is the best guy to coach an aging Lebron and a bunch of young players with raw talent? No- nobody does. So let’s lay off Lebron (never thought I’d say that…) and his camp for wanting a new coach for the Lakers. As a Laker fan, I realize what a smart player Walton was, and how a lot of the time a not-so-great player turns into an outstanding coach. This may be the case when it’s all said and done, but right now, Luke Walton is not the man who should be heading the Lake show. It’s time for a change, and Lebron and “his camp” saying what everyone knows, does not make him the bad guy in this situation.
Normally I argue against Lebron fans, because I’m a firm believer that Michael Jeffery Jordan is the best to ever do it, and Lebron fans are delusional thinking he’s better than Mike. Here, I’ve got to take Lebron’s side and say that we’ve never seen a player of this caliber spend his career with the likes David Blatt, Tyronn Lue, Brendan Malone, Mike Brown, Erik Spoelstra, and now Luke Walton as his head coaches. This guy makes every player on the floor better, what does he have to do to get a coach who has a clue???? Lay off the Bron hate for being a “coach killer” or “not coachable” because I guarantee you Popovic can make me a better basketball player, but those guys who Lebron’s had to play for? Not a chance.
