The NFL season is approaching its “Back-9” and we are starting
to see the cream of the crop rise and the pretenders fall back down to earth.
5 Things We Learned About Week 11 In The NFL:
5) Zach Wilson is what I thought he would be on draft night… A bust.
Think of your worst 1980s preppy movie villain. That is Zach Wilson.
After losing to the New England Patriots Sunday, 10-3, a reporter asked Wilson, “If he felt his offense let the team down” Zach responded by saying, “No.. next question” Wilson has that rich, spoiled, entitled attitude and refuses to take or accept blame. The Jets had a total of 2 yards in the 2nd half against New England. Here are the facts. He is by far the worst starting quarterback in the NFL. Out of 33 qualified QB’s, here are his stats and rankings.
- Passer rating: 72.6… ranked 32nd.
- Completion Percentage: 55.6 %… ranked 33rd
- PassTD-INT: ranked 33rd.
- Pass TD/att: 2.1% ranked 31st.
4) Here come the Commanders:
After starting the season 1-4 Washington has won 5 out of their last 6 games and are right in the thick of the playoff race. Taylor Heinicke has been a game manager for this team and it is working. He is completing 60% of his passes and has 6 total touchdowns and 4 interceptions, since taking over for Carson Wentz at the QB position. The Commanders are 6th in defense only giving up 327.3 yards per game and 2nd in 3rd down defense.
3) Patrick Mahomes is the MVP:
Mahomes led another 4th quarter game winning drive on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Chargers. Mahomes hit Travis Kelce with .37 seconds left to defeat Los Angeles, 30-27. Mahomes was 20-34 for 329 yards at 3 touchdowns. He is now 24-3 in his career against the AFC West and 14-0 on the road against his division. The Chiefs have 25 straight wins in November and December.
2) Is this the end of Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh:
The Steelers have never had a losing season under Coach Tomlin. That is going to change this season. Pittsburgh fell to 3-7 on Sunday after losing to the Cincinnati Bengals, 37-30. This offense has not be right for the past few years. They are ranked 28th in points, 26th in total yards and 23rd in passing yards. It might be time for a new voice and a new direction for this once legendary organization.
1) Vikings fans… RELAX:
The Minnesota Vikings lost at home to the Dallas Cowboys, 40-3. It was an embarrassing loss, but nothing is going to change. The Vikings will win the NFC North and compete for home field advantage in the NFC. In every NFL season there are usually 4 things that will happen to every good team.
- The team will win a game where they get outplayed by their opponent.
- The team will lose a game where they should have won.
- The team will blow out a an opponent.
- The team will get blown out in 1 game. This is what happened to Minnesota.
Vikings fans, your team will be fine, they will get back to work and still win 13 or 14 games.
