What a weekend of college football. For The 1st time since the 2014-15 Final Four Playoff Format… Clemson and or Alabama will not be participating. Neither team will qualify for the post-season tournament.
#5) Bo Nix is the Heisman Favorite:
Forget about all the years you saw Bo Nix underachieve at Auburn, he is a much different player. Nix is number 1 in college football with 36 total touchdowns. He has completed 73% of his passes and is averaging 6.6 yards per rush. This weekend he became the 1st player since 1996 to rush and pass for a touchdown and catch a TD pass in one game. He is doing things that very few quarterbacks have ever done.
#4) Brian Kelly left Notre Dame for moments like this:
The No. 10 LSU Tigers knocked off No. 6 Alabama 32-31 in overtime after Jayden Daniels hit freshman tight end, Mason Taylor, on a game-winning two-point conversion. Brian Kelly is now 7-2 in his 1st season in Louisiana. The Tigers outplayed the Crimson Tide most of the game because they have the talent to compete with anyone in the country. Kelly is no longer going into games where his team has to play perfect football to beat elite programs. When he was at Notre Dame, they didn’t have the talent to compete with Alabama.
#3) Can #7 TCU run the table?
TCU is 9-0, they play @Texas, @Baylor, and at home against Iowa State. If they win all these games and they win the Big XII title game, there is no way the committee can keep them out of the Final Four.
#2) Is The Dabo Dynasty over?
#4 Clemson lost to Notre Dame 35-14. The Fighting Irish dominated this game from start to finish. Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei was benched again. This offense has struggled all season long. They are ranked 124th in passing yards and 87th in rushing yards. Dabo Swinney doesn’t have the playmakers he has had in the past and the play on the field shows. I am surprised they only have 1 loss.
#1) Georgia continues to dominate:
The Georgia Bulldogs held the No. 1 scoring team in the nation to 6 points through three quarters. Tennessee scored a late touchdown to make the game appear closer before losing, 27-13. The Bulldogs controlled this game in all facets. The Volunteers were the No.1 ranked team in the nation coming into this game but Kirby’s Smart team pushed them around all over the field. It is going to be very hard for anyone to beat Georgia.
