5 Things We Learned About Week 6 in the NFL:
5) The Packers get dominated in Tampa:
The Green Bay Packers led 10-0 after the first quarter. Tampa Bay scored 38 straight points and won, 38-10. Green Bay came into this game 4-0. Tampa’s defense appears to be clicking on all cylinders. The Packers are starting to get the reputation as a finesse team who struggle against physical defenses. If they want to go to the Super Bowl, they have to get tougher mentally and physically.
4) Break up the Denver Broncos:
The New England Patriots defeated the Broncos 5 straight times in Foxborough. All that changed on Sunday. Denver kicker Brandon McManus made six field goals to help the Broncos get their 2nd straight victory. Cam Newton was sacked 4 times and threw 2 interceptions. Denver limited New England to 288 yards of total offense.
3) The New York Jets are pathetic:
The Jets lost to the Dolphins, 24-0. Adam Gase was supposed to an offensive- minded coach. The Jets accumulated 263 yards of total offense. They are averaging less than 14 points per game. I don’t know why he hasn’t been fired and I don’t know why the players were smiling on the field after the game. New York has a great chance to go 0-16.
2) Have the Cowboys quit on Mike McCarthy?:
The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Arizona Cardinals, 38-10. The Cowboys looked outcoached in every aspect of the game. Dallas is 6 games into the McCarthy Era and it has been a disaster. With all their injuries, I do not see it getting better. Players are starting to speak out against this incompetent coaching staff.
1) Titans and Steelers are 5-0:
Pittsburgh is 5-0 for the first time since 1978 and Tennessee is 5-0 for the 2nd time in franchise history. Both teams have intimidating defenses, a good running game and a quarterback who can make plays with their arms and legs. The Steelers travel to take on the Titans Sunday at 1PM. This could be the game of the year in the AFC.
Bonus Coverage:
The Bears are 5-1. It is always better to win ugly, than lose pretty.
The Browns have been outscored by the Steelers and Ravens 76-13.
It is “Tua Time” in Miami. The Dolphins will start Tua Tagovailoa after their bye week.
The 49ers defeated the Rams 24-16. Kyle Shanahan is now 4-0 against Sean McVay.
