Going into week 17, there are 11 teams who are still unsure if they are in the playoffs or what their playoff seed will be. Week 17 will be an amazing football Sunday.
5 Things We Learned About Week 16:
5) Have the Steelers gotten their swag back?
The Pittsburgh Steelers came from 17 points down to beat the Indianapolis Colts, 28-24. Pittsburgh lost three games in a row before Sunday’s come from behind victory. Ben Roethlisberger threw for 342 yards and 3 touchdowns. This team has good wide receivers and a top 10 defense. What they do not have, is a running game. They rushed for 20 yards on Sunday. The Steelers clinched their 24th division title and play the Cleveland Browns next weekend.
4) Here come the Ravens.
The Baltimore Ravens defeated the New York Giants,27-13. The Ravens are number 1 in the NFL in rushing, number 4 in 3rd down conversions, and they are only giving up 20 points per game. Since Lamar Jackson returned from COVID-19, he has been sensational. No one wants to Baltimore in the post-season. They are peaking at the right time.
3) The Bears offense has been sensational.
Matt Nagy has turned over the play calling to offensive coordinator Bill Lazor and this might have saved his job and the Bears season. Over the past 5 games Chicago has scored 41, 30, 36, 33, and 41 points. The Bears play the Green Bay Packers next Sunday in a must win game.
2) Are the Seahawks the most improved team in the NFL?
Six weeks into the season the Seattle defense was historically bad. They traded for Jamal Adams and Carlos Dunlap. This team’s defense is now winning games. The Seahawks have giving up 12, 3, 15, and 9 points over their past 4 games. Adams and Dunlap have made this unit a Top 10 defense in just a few weeks.
1) Are the Packers the most complete team in the NFL?
The Green Bay Packers beat the Tennessee Titans Sunday night, 40-14. The Titans were never competitive in this game. For the past few years, we have heard that Matt LaFluer’s team gets pushed around and can not win a game when a team has a dominant, smash-mouth, running attack. The Packers answered the call on Sunday. Aaron Rodgers should win the NFL’s MVP award and Devante Adams is the best wide receiver in the NFL.
