The Eagles are the first team in the NFL to clinch a playoff spot. Two weeks ago, Jalen Hurts threw for 380 yards and 3 touchdowns in a win over the Tennessee Titans. On Sunday, Philadelphia defeated the Giants 48-22. Miles Sanders rushed for 144 yards. This is a team that can beat you in different ways every week. There is a reason they are 12-1. They have the most complete offense in the NFL.
5 Things We Learned About Week 14 In The NFL:
5) Mike White is not the answer:
The Jets have lost two close games to the Vikings and Bills. They are 7-6 and will face the Lions, Jaguars, Seahawks, and Dolphins over the next 4 weeks. Mike White is a tough kid and the players love him but he is not a franchise quarterback. Jets Fans ask yourself this question… Do you want White going up against, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and Josh Allen in a big playoff game on the road? The answer is no, 100 times out of 100.
4) Geno Smith and Tua Tagovailoa are coming back to earth:
The Dolphins lost to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night, 23-17. Tua was 10-28 for 145 yards. The Seattle Seahawks, lost at home, to the Carolina Panthers, 30-24. Smith was 21-36 and threw 2 interceptions. What we are seeing is teams adjusting the 2nd half of the year to these quarterbacks. Defense coordinators are now adapting to what they have seen on film and Tua and Geno look like average quarterbacks, once again.
3) How do the Baltimore Ravens keep winning?
The Ravens are 9-4 and they have won 4 out of their last 5 games. The Ravens threw for 198 passing yards two weeks ago in their victory over the Denver Broncos and on Sunday they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 16-14, throwing for 104 yards. In a pass-happy league, Baltimore is winning by running the ball and defense.
2) Are the Cincinnati Bengals the best team in the AFC?
The Bengals defeated the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, 23-10. Going into this game Cincinnati lost 5 straight to Cleveland and lost 8 out of their last 9 to their division rivals. Joe Burrow has beaten Patrick Mahomes the last 3 times they have faced each. This team is now clicking on all cylinders. Do not be surprised if they end up in the Super Bowl once again. If healthy, they are better than the Buffalo Bills and Chiefs.
1) Have the 49ers found their quarterback?
Brock Purdy, the rookie out of Iowa State, is now 2-0 in his last two games. He outplayed veteran Tom Brady and 49ers dominated the Tampa Bay Bucs, 35-7. Purdy is completing 67% of his passes and has 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He is a more accurate passer than Trey Lance and is a better runner than Jimmy Garoppolo. The 49ers are in a great position here because both Lance and Purdy are on rookie contracts.
