1. He was too worried about Myles Garrett and forgot to create an effective game plan! Throughout the game, commentators noted how LaFleur was overly focused on Myles Garrett, implementing special calls for when Garrett wasn’t on the field. LaFleur even mentioned Garrett’s name multiple times during his post-game press conference. While planning for Garrett is necessary, you shouldn’t abandon your team’s identity to counter him—and the Packers clearly did this week!
2. The Packers’ special teams are still abysmal, and Rich Bisaccia is essentially stealing money from this team! The Packers’ special teams rankings over the past few years are dismal: 2024 – 22nd, 2023 – 29th, 2022 – 32nd. Shockingly, Bisaccia was promoted to assistant head coach after the 2022 season! The blocked field goal wasn’t the only reason we lost this game, but it was a significant factor. Hopefully, we see improvement from the special teams this year; if not, Bisaccia needs to go.
3. Penalties! The Packers had 14 penalties in this game, and while some defensive calls were soft or ticky-tack at best, they still hurt. Rasheed Walker’s false start before the blocked field goal was massive, and Jordan Morgan had a rough day. The Packers now have 28 penalties in three games this season! Over the past two seasons, they’ve been among the most penalized teams, with 113 penalties in 2023 and 119 in 2024. The 2025 season is off to a poor start in this regard. This team needs more accountability and discipline from both players and coaches!
4. The Packers’ defense did everything right to win this game, but the offense and special teams let them down! Packers fans should cherish this season with Jeff Hafley, as he’s likely to become a head coach in the next coaching cycle.
5. Matthew Golden finally got some playing time and had a solid day—not a breakout game, but close! If Golden had taken his 96-yard deep pass for a touchdown, the Packers likely would have won. It was a perfect pass from Love, and Golden had a chance to make a bigger play but couldn’t capitalize. The Packers need to utilize Golden more, but not on sweeps—he’s never shown the ability to make defenders miss in the open field. Instead, use Savion Williams for those plays, as he ran them frequently in college.
