5 Things We Learned About Week 12 in the NFL
Here comes Washington… WFT?
If the season ended today, The Washington Football Team would be the 7th seed in the NFC playoffs. After losing 4 straight games, this team has won 3 in a row. It has not always been pretty, but Taylor Heinicke is providing his own “FitzMagic” He is completing 67% of his passes on the year and has 5 touchdowns and 1 interception over the past 3 games. Ron Rivera has this team playing well.
Who is the best team in the AFC East?
The Buffalo Bills defeated the New Orleans Saints, 31-6 on Thanksgiving. This team has been Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde all year long. The New England Patriots have won 6 straight games. They are No.1 in the NFL in point differential and their offense is averaging 28 points per game. These two teams meet up Monday Night, in the game of the year.
Injuries, injuries, injuries.
We are seeing more players get injured than ever before. Dalvin Cook and Deebo Samuel will miss time because of injuries. Christian McCaffrey is out for the season. The team that has depth and can stay healthy will be the one standing at the end of the year. Draft picks and free-agent signings are more important than ever because teams need 2 to 3 players deep at every position.
Here come the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Last season the Bucs struggled through the first half of the year and then hit their stride. Tampa Bay just beat a good Indianapolis Colts team, 38-31. Leonard Fournette rushed for 4 touchdowns. With a healthy Rob Gronkowski and a running game, this team is going to be very dangerous. No one wants to play the Super Bowl Champions in the post-season.
This is the best Green Bay Packers team Aaron Rodgers has ever had.
The Packers have a record of 9-3. They have lost their star quarterback for a game. Aaron Jones, Devonte Adams, Robert Tonyan, Rashan Gary, Jaire Alexander, and Za’Darius Smith all to injuries. Despite that, this team has not missed a beat. Green Bay’s front office has done a masterful job of adding depth and toughness to their roster. The Packers can beat you 37-33, or 10-3. They can run the ball 40 times a game or pass the ball 40 times a game. They are the most complete unit in the NFL on both sides of the ball. This team is “scary-good.”
