They say football is a game of inches. Just ask the special team coaches around the NFL. In Week 5, kickers missed 12 extra points, which ties an NFL record. Kickers also missed 12 field goals on Sunday.
Top 5 Power Rankings:
On the outside looking in… Arizona Cardinals, LA Rams, Baltimore Ravens.
5) Los Angeles Chargers:
Justin Herbert has been the best quarterback in the NFL over the past 2 seasons.
- Herbert has passed for 300 or more yards 11 times in his first 20 games, breaking the NFL record that was hared by Dan Marino and Patrick Mahomes.
- He is 8-1 in his last 9 starts with two different head coaches.
- 13 games with at least 2 TD Passes.
- 6 game winning/tying drives.
If Herbert is playing, The Chargers have a chance of making a deep run in the post-season.
4) Dallas Cowboys:
The Cowboys lost their first game of the season to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 31-29. Their offense is two-deep at every skill position, and they have become almost unstoppable.
- Ranked 2nd in total yards, 450.8 per game.
- Ranked 2nd in rushing yards, 172.8 per game.
- Ranked 2nd in points, 34 per game.
- Ranked 2nd in 3rd down conversions, 51.6%.
This is a team that can score with anyone in the NFL.
3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
Tom Brady is having another MVP-like season. The Bucs are 1st in passing yards. He is completing 66% of his passes, averaging 353.4 yards per game. He has 15 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. This defense is not where it needs to be but this offense is in mid-season form.
2) Green Bay Packers:
After losing to the New Orleans Saints, 38-3 on opening night, The Green Bay Packers have won 4 straight games. The Problem with this team, on both sides of the ball, is their lack of depth.
Devante Adams leads the team in receptions with 42 receptions. Their running back, Aaron Jones, is 2nd on the team with 17 catches. If Green Bay wants to compete for a Super Bowl, they must stay healthy and acquire a WR before the trading deadline on November 2nd.
1) Buffalo Bills:
If you ever needed proof that week 1 in the NFL means nothing… The Bills lost to the Steelers, 23-16. Buffalo has held a halftime lead in 14 straight games. That’s the most in NFL history. Buffalo’s last 11 wins have been by 10+ points. That is the longest streak in the NFL since 1998-99. Josh Allen and Herbert are the clear favorites to compete for the MVP.
