Risky predictions are my specialty and the Pre-season is over, the 53-man rosters have been finalized, and Game number one of the NFL season between the Bills and the Rams is just a few days away. While every fan of every team is full of hope, my predictions list is here to throw some water on that fire. Yes, I am aware that there are some strong takes on this list but playing it safe can be tedious, there’s nothing wrong with getting a little crazy predicting what will happen while a bunch of men plays a game for our entertainment. Let’s kick off the 2022 season than with a “risky predictions” list
Risky Predictions
- Josh Allen wins the regular season MVP and the Super Bowl MVP
- New England finishes with a bottom 10 record
- The New York Giants will make the playoffs
- Alvin Kamara will hit 2000 total yards from scrimmage
- Justin Jefferson will have career lows in Yards and Touchdowns
- Despite Mitch Trubisky’s 3800 yards passing and 30 Touchdowns, the Steelers will have their 1st losing season since 2003
- The Washington Commanders will have a losing season despite having a top 10 defense
- Cincinnati Bengals will get into the playoffs as a Wild Card
- The Rams will lose their first playoff game
- Kyler Murray will watch game film
- Sammy Watkins breaks 1,000 receiving yards mark
- Tom Brady will retire sometime during the back half of the 2022 season
- Indianapolis Colts will have the number one defense in the NFL
- The Denver Broncos and Detroit Lions will end the year with the same Win/Loss record
- Derrick Henry stays healthy but won’t break 1000 rushing yards
- Baker Mayfield will lead the Panthers to the playoffs
- The New York Jets will finish with a better record than the New England Patriots
- Nick and Joey Bosa will combine for 36 or more sacks
- Justin Fields gets traded after the season
- Even though they win 8 games or less, Miami still picks up Tua’s 5th-year option
- Seahawks, Texans, Falcons, Bears, and Patriots are the 5 worst teams in terms of record
- Cleveland wins the same number of games with their backup QB as they do with their starting QB
- Travis Kelce has his lowest statistical output since 2015
- Dallas misses the playoffs and fires Mike McCarthy
- Trevor Lawrence makes the Pro Bowl
- The Raiders and Jaguars finish with the same Win/Loss record
- Philadelphia Eagles don’t have a top 10 offense or defense but win the NFC East and lose in the first round of the playoffs
- Baltimore wins the AFC North
- The Super Bowl is Bills/49ers
- Lamar Jackson doesn’t resign with the Ravens, he signs with the Vikings in the offseason
How many of these risky predictions will turn out to be true? That’s anyone’s guess, but I’d be happy to hit on 40% of these. Thanks for reading and enjoy the 2022 NFL season.
