The BIG3 has brought meaningful basketball action in late August and what can be better for basketball fans?
In one game, Killer 3’s battle Power and in another, Triplets clashed with 3 Headed Monsters.
Power was the most complete team with the best coach, but injuries proved too much to overcome and Killer 3’s great team effort .
Congratulations are in order to Killer 3’s on advancing to the championship game in Los Angeles.
There will be a new BIG3 champion!
In game two I anticipated a tough matchup because 3 Headed Monsters had revenge and an opportunity to reach the finals on their side, but Iso Joe Johnson showed why he’s the BIG3 MVP.
The BIG3 leading scorer and MVP during the regular season had another fantastic game, as he led Triplets and Coach of the Year, Lisa Leslie to a championship showdown with Killer 3’s.
Los Angeles is Ice Cube’s back yard and the BIG3 is at this point playing with House Money.
A capacity crowd at Staples Center on September 1st is a foregone conclusion, the only question at hand is whether you have the Over or the Under on how many celebrities are going be in attendance on that day.
“I love it. It’s an amazing league. To be around the guys, to have this type of camaraderie… I’m just extremely appreciate of what Ice Cube has done for us”, Will Bynum – Bivouac.
“It’s been fun, a lot of competitive players. It was a great experience. I think Ice Cube has a great thing going. He’s a genius for being able to put this together. Big hats off to him. I’m just grateful to be apart of this.”, Added Josh Smith – Also from Bivouac.

Killer 3’s faced off against defending champion Power, who were coming off two straight losses, had Glen Davis available after his injury scare last week in Dallas and were looking to get back to winning ways.
As the game went on, Killer 3’s role players continued to do damage as Power struggled to get last season’s MVP Corey Maggette going.
Late in the game, when Killer 3’s were four-points from victory, Power had two costly turnovers that amounted to the four-points Killer 3’s needed to seal the deal.

“If you come in and are half-assin’ it, not taking it serious, this league ain’t for you. We want guys who are gonna approach this league just like if they was in the NBA.”, Stephen Jackson – Killer 3’s.
“I don’t think I’ve been in a final game since ’94 against the (Houston) Rockets. That was a good experience, but we lost. But this gonna be a better one. We’re gonna win.” Killer 3’s head coach, Charles Oakley.
Mama did not raise a fool…I’m not going to get into a difference of opinion with The King Of New York.
Killer 3’s 50 – Power 42.
3 Headed Monsters entered their game vs Triplets feeling confident based on the way they’d played them just two weeks ago in Milwaukee.
Early on, it looked as though it would be close. 3 Headed Monsters, with the help of Reggie Evans, Rashard Lewis and Mario Chalmers, would go into halftime down just four-points and looking like a threat to take the lead at any given moment.
Unfortunately Iso Joe had other plans.
Joe Johnson scored 26 of the team’s 50 points, including none other than another dramatic game winner.
