Alabama comes into this National Championship Game with a dominant win over #4 Fighting Irish. The Crimson tide won. 31-14 against Notre Dame. Ohio State thoroughly outplayed the #2 Clemson Tigers, 49-28.
Nick Saban may have the best “Big-3” in College football. Quarterback Mac Jones completed 77% of his passes, threw 36 touchdowns and only had 4 interceptions. Najee Harris rushed for 24 touchdowns and averages 6.1 yards per rushing attempt. Heisman Trophy Winner Devonta Smith had 105 receptions, 1,641 yards and 15 touchdowns.
The “Tide” has allowed 17, 3, and 14 points in three of their last 4 games. Their defense has 35 sacks and 12 interceptions on the season.
Ohio State only played 7 games during the season, but they were 5th in scoring, averaging 43.4 yards per game. Quarterback, Justin Fields is playing himself into a top 3 NFL draft pick. He has completed 70% of his passes on the season with 20 touchdowns. Fields threw for 385 yards and 6 touchdown passes against Clemson. Trey Sermon, the transfer from Oklahoma, has been one of the best running backs in the country over the past few weeks. In his last three games, he has rushed for 112, 331, and 193 yards with 5 touchdowns. Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave have 82 catches and 20 touchdowns on the year.
The Buckeyes do not have a Chase Young, a Nick or Joey Bosa, but their defense is fast and furious. They have 19 sacks and 7 interceptions in 7 games.
Prediction:
This could be the highest scoring National Championship Game in history. Both teams will score early and often. Alabama has been the best team all season long and I expect them to be the best team on Monday night.
